Hello! Christopher here. Thanks for coming all the way to the About Me page.
As I had previously stated before getting into product design I had an 8-year career in the world of on-set production management, helping bring visions to life and working with large teams of people. On these jobs I managed anywhere from 40 to 120 individuals over multiple teams, there were always an incredible number of moving parts. The job was really tough. It pushed me to my limits many times but it also gave me the strength and confidence to do almost anything in life.
Before on-set production management (and during that same time), I also had a 15-year career as a professional musician that’s not over. I still make music under the name ‘obli’ and instead of me trying to tell you all about it, let me share my music bio below : )
Chris Null (obli) started his musical career 15 years ago touring with Sonny Moore a.k.a. Skrillex. Since then he has logged countless shows and hours in the studio with Dead Sara, played guitar for multiplatinum GRAMMY Award-nominated superstar Julia Michaels and now is finally getting the chance to infuse his solo artistry as obli with the dynamic and diverse sonic acumen he’s accrued along the way. With recent radio & co-sign support from the likes of Zane Lowe (Apple One), Sian Eleri (BBC Radio 1 / UK), Jenny Greene (RTE2 Music/IE), Zan Rowe (Double J/AU), Jason Bentley (KCRW/US), and Wyldeflower (KCRW/US) Los Angeles-based artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist is presenting a captivating vision:
“obli is me,” he exclaims. “All of the music I’ve played and listened to brought me to this point creatively. It is the sum of my past and present as well as the art I’ve made thus far. It feels personal, warm, and deep.”
Signed to ODESZA's label Foreign Family Collective, obli is currently working out of his home studio in Los Angeles, crafting a new set of tracks slated for release in 2023.
I’m excited about my new career, it’s something I've wanted to do for some time. My path might seem like an unconventional one, but I believe it gives me a unique experience and perspective that will only help serve me and whomever I am working for.
